Jón Ingi Bergsteinsson, M.Sc. BIOMED ENG, is the co-founder and CTO of MEDEI ApS. He graduated from the Biomedial Engineering department at Aalborg University in Denmark, where he specialised in medical software development and informatics. During his years at the university, he was actively involved in different clinical trials, where he acted as both assistant investigator, software engineer consultant, and technician.
Jon has extensive experience with clinical data acquisition, medical device software development, quality assurance, and project management - whereas he has been involved as an engineer, consultant, and QA for both public, and private sector organisations.
In addition to being the CTO of MEDEI, Jon holds a seat in the Biomedical Community ERFA board where he contributes with experience and knowledge of medical device software development, clinical data security, and general experience with the ISO medical device standards.
Since he founded MEDEI ApS in early 2013, Jon has been a speaker at domestic biomedical engineering conferences, conferences at danish Universities, and actively involved in both the Danish and Icelandic startup communities - providing guidance and support to startups and other actors involving medical software development, clinical data acquisition, and clinical data privacy laws and regulations.
